SINGLE BREASTED
Single Breasted
A Single-Breasted item has a narrow overlap and only one column of buttons.
The one button, single-breasted jackets, two-button, three-button jackets make up more than 94% of all the jackets out there and that’s what you usually see the population fo what our white collar people are wearing.
DOUBLE BREASTED
Double Breasted
A Double-Breasted garment is a coat, jacket, or vest with wide, overlapping front flaps, which has on its front two symmetrical columns of buttons; by contrast.
The original double-breasted jacket had six buttons, only three of which could be fastened. The XVIII century’s refer jackets worn by the military inspired it. To accommodate shorter men, a four-button version was created.
